If you are hospitalized, Medicare A will apply to your care.

If you are not hospitalized, but have a prescription for a back brace from your doctor, Medicare B will cover 80% to 100% of the cost of your back brace.

Medicare B covers arm, leg back and neck braces. Once you receive the prescription from your doctor, you need to purchase the brace through a provider that is Medicare-certified.
